letters from our company director
30 March 2020
To our valued clients,
As of 27 March 2020, South Africa has gone into a nationwide, 3-week lockdown. Only businesses that render essential services, such as health care services, production of food businesses or businesses that render hygiene services to these types of businesses, may operate during the lockdown.
We are available to answer your calls and emails during the nationwide lockdown. To our residential and commercial clients that don't fall into the essential services category, feel free to contact us, and we will schedule your treatment from the 17 April 2020 onwards.
Should you experience a pest problem during the lockdown, we will gladly provide you with our expert advice as to steps you can take to eliminate/reduce the pest activity. We will do this at no change even to first-time clients who contact us during the lockdown.
Please note our regular operating hours may be affected due to the lockdown. We will endeavour to reply to your emails and phone messages within 24 hours of receipt, between Monday to Friday.
Please stay at home during the lockdown except when seeking medical attention or purchasing of essential groceries. Continue to be in a habit of good hygiene practices.
Stay safe!
Kind regards,
Tertius Linde
Director
23 March 2020
To our valued clients,
This is an update to our company policies regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in South Africa. To reaffirm, your safety and the safety of our staff is of prime concern to my company. We are staying up to date with news as regards developments in South Africa about this outbreak, to ensure we are at the forefront of preventing the spread of this virus.
In addition to new policies implemented on the 16 March 2020, the following is implemented with immediate effect:
-
No hard copies of any paperwork will be sent out with our pest control technicians and delivered to your site. All job cards, treatment certificates/reports and invoices will be emailed to you.
-
You will not be asked to sign off on the work on site. Rather we kindly request that you reply to an email that will be sent to after a service, specifying that you were satisfied with the service.
We will continue to implement practical steps in the way we operate so as to protect you against COVID-19.
Kind regards,
Tertius Linde
Director
16 March 2020
To our valued clients,
As you are aware, as of last week some people in South Africa have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
In light of this, my company has instituted strict hygiene policies so as to prevent the spread of the virus, thus protecting you our valued customer and my valued staff members.
These policies include the following:
-
An ongoing hygiene training program to train and remind my staff of the importance of hygiene practices to prevent the spread of the virus.
-
Daily screening of all my staff. Temperature screenings of all my staff are done daily before any staff member begins their day's work. No staff member of ITC Pest Control who displays any flu-like-symptoms will be sent to render services at our clients. Should any staff member of ITC Pest Control display flu-like-symptoms, they are immediately isolated from other staff members (they are self-quarantined) and will not work on any of our customer's sites. The proper procedure as outlined by the Department of Health is followed to ensure that such a staff member receives the proper medical care. To date, none of our staff have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
-
All our technicians are equipped with surgical gloves, masks, anti-bacterial hand soap and hand sanitizer. As from Monday 16 March 2020 it is company policy that all our technicians wear these surgical gloves and masks, from the moment they exit their vehicles on your site until they finish rendering the pest control service. These items are not reused between our various client's sites. New gloves and masks are used between sites. This is to give you, my client, even more peace of mind during our services.
-
At the end of each workday, our technician's work vehicles are disinfected against the COVID-19 virus.
-
Strict hygiene measures are also in place at our offices. This is to ensure that there will be no spread of COVID-19 between any of our staff members.
I would like to assure you that all of us here at ITC Pest Control view the outbreak of COVID-19 in South Africa with all seriousness and we have implemented these practical steps to protect you, our valued client, against the spread of the disease.
I would also like to take this time to remind you of the importance of regular handwashing and sanitation. Also, should you or anyone at your premises be experiencing any flu-like-symptoms, please immediately contact our office, so that we can reschedule your appointment. Working together we can prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease and thus protect our fellow South Africans.
Wishing you all the best,
Tertius Linde
